I have sympathy for the Vet but I can't help being proud of the cat.

Josh's cat jumped out of the second story window.
Image via WikipediaJosh's cat jumped out the window of their second story apartment. The cat is never allowed outside and is a pure house cat only. They found it outside hiding in a basement window well and fortunately it seemed fine.

Obama was on the tonight show.
Image via WikipediaObama seemed a little tired and used the word look a lot but he did pretty good as usual. It is great to have a president that can handle anything Jay Leno comes up with. Obviously Jay is not going to be that difficult with the president but he still tries to open up verbal trap doors for the president to fall through. Obama easily skipped around any pitfalls and scored points with the audience and country. My bet is that his approval rating will improve with this performance.
He should gracefully drop Joe Biden as Vice-President somehow and get Hillary Clinton as his running mate at the last minute. This would improve his chances of re-election.

I stopped using Nasonex and the pain seems to go away.
The head pains I was experiencing seem to be diminishing after I stopped taking Nasonex for one day. It may just be coincidence but the pain seems to be much less. My Doctor didn't think the Nasonex could cause the pain I had and Nasonex did help with my sore throat. I am just glad that I can now chew on the left side again without hell fire erupting in my jaw. I may not need anything right now because the allergy season is basically over.

What is the secret to a happy family life?
Image via WikipediaI have finally discovered the secret to happiness after many grueling years. If you want to be happy just get a good pair of headphones. It solves almost any problem.
Also, a safe response to almost any question is "I don't know". You can vary your intonation of voice when saying this to deal with an extended conversation if needed.
Most problems are self-resolving so the above two methods will save a lot of time by eliminating unneeded effort. You can then concentrate on taking care of real problems.

U.S. credit rating may be downgraded again.
Image via WikipediaI saw an article that said the U.S. credit rating may be downgraded again. The Tea Party politicians should wake up and take care of the country's business instead of being political extremists. People who vote for the Tea Party shouldn't complain when the economy is flushed down the crapper the rest of the way.
I don't believe that the liberals in the Democratic Party are the answer either. We need politicians who will at least talk to each other for the purpose of solving problems. Maybe that is too much to ask for.

Pain to teeth, jaw and head is irritating.
Image by Atsi via Flickr I am having constant pain in my teeth, jaws and head. I am beginning to suspect that the oral surgeons diagnosis is wrong and that the pain may have something to do with the Nasonex spray I started taking a few months ago. The problem is that I constantly cough without the Nasonex. I am trying to decide if the cough or the pain is worse. I may try an experiment of temporarily stopping the Nasonex to see if the pain goes away.

Obama is correct to pull troops out of Iraq.
Image by Getty Images via @daylifeThe soldiers in Iraq did a good job but it is time to bring them home now. The initial reasons for invading Iraq by the second President Bush were insufficient to justify an invasion at that time. The first President Bush should have finished the job during the earlier gulf war and invaded Iraq then while the whole world was on our side and the justification was obvious. Saddam Hussein would not have been able to kill our local allies and torture people in Iraq if we would have taken him out right then.
We should try to keep Iraq stable at this time to avoid the loss of more lives or the establishment of a new terrorist state. Unfortunately its difficult to stabilize a country without a military force in the country and we will never have the will power to re-invade Iraq if things go sour after we leave. I don't know of a good solution to the situation but I do know that its not worth the lives of any more U.S. soldiers to stay in Iraq at this time. Hopefully the people of Iraq will take care of their own problems internally and not threaten anyone outside their borders for the foreseeable future.
I suspect the current situation in Iraq is only a short term solution and that there will be more problems in the years to come but a short term solution is better than no solution at all. The deaths of U.S. soldiers is not going to improve the situation in Iraq so Obama is doing the right thing at the right time.

Wauwatosa, WI is starting to be a rough place to live.
Image via WikipediaI was stopped at a stop light in Wauwatosa with my windows down at night. Definite mistake. A car with four creeps stopped next to me and made several sexually offensive and negative religious comments about me. I suspect that they may have actually done something violent to me if I would have responded to the provocation.
A similar situation happened before while I was walking on the sidewalk in Wauwatosa at night so this is not a completely isolated incident. Don't these people have anything better to do? It's time to get the hell out of Wauwatosa because it is definitely not a good place to live and certainly not worth the tax rate of Wauwatosa.

Sweepstakes offerings are weak right now.
Image by epSos.de via FlickrI like to enter sweepstakes for fun and I have even won a few things. The current offerings for sweepstakes are just not as good as they used to be. I believe that Hostess used to have a million dollar Halloween sweeps but this year they only have a lowly prize. It is very easy to measure the current economic outlook by looking at the sweeps that companies are offering. The only exception is Publishers Clearing House which is offering a bigger than usual mega prize so they must be doing well.
Josh now trains other workers.
Image by jimmywayne via FlickrJosh has started training other workers on his night shift job at the Journal. It would be great if he was able to get another job at the Journal with benefits or obtain a good job someplace else. The Journal does not seem to have a lot of new job openings but he is keeping an eye on their job application site. I think he intends to always keep the part time Journal job as a back up even if he gets a more substantial full time job. The Journal has a very flexible work schedule so they would accommodate another job by altering his schedule as long as it fit their requirements. He started working at the Journal when he was 16 so he has the potential to put in more than 40 years at that company if he continues to work there.
He has applied at the museum for a part time job that would suit him well. He has a number of possibilities for full time jobs but no firm offers yet.

Herman Cain seems to be modifying 9-9-9
Image by Getty Images via @daylife Herman Cain seems to be modifying his 9-9-9 plan. The original plan was obviously a massive tax increase on the middle and lower classes. Even the Tea Party people would eventually have figured that out and voted for someone else. I would not vote for Herman Cain because he does not seem to have the over all capabilities required of a President and of course he is one of those misguided Republicans. Mitt Romney would appear to be the best choice if the Republicans want to win back the Presidency.
If Romney did manage to win he would be greatly hampered in his policy decisions by the frighteningly ignorant Tea Party wing of the Republican party. Romney had some excellent ideas regarding health care when he was a governor but he would never be able to do anything reasonable in the current political climate. I sympathize with some Tea Party social policy ideas but they would destroy what is left of this country if they ever achieved unchecked power. It is simply not sensible to take extreme positions and not negotiate with the other political party. The Tea Party appears to me to be unreasonable in their economic views and immoral on health care for people who need help.
It is wrong not to help a person requiring health care if they are in need. I would be willing to bet that most Tea Party members would help someone if they saw the situation first hand but we live in a society with obligations to its citizens and we are morally obligated to support the government when it takes care of people in need. Maybe if Herman Cain used all his new projected tax revenues to support a sensible health care policy, he might be worth a second look.

Coffee and Chocolate are going extinct!
Image via WikipediaStarbucks is hedging its bets by investigating juice and other options. Some news outlets are already calling this plan B. Lets all pray it doesn't come to that. It is difficult to deny the obvious reality of God after tasting coffee and chocolate. Only man would be sinful enough to destroy both coffee and chocolate at the same time. Maybe global warming destroying these crops permanently is God's judgement on modern humanity.

Herman Cain's policy choices
Image via WikipediaI have been briefly reading and listening to Herman Cain's 9-9-9 policy ideas. Basically this plan seems to transfer the tax burden off of the rich and transfer it onto the poor. It may be good for some large companies but it is definitely bad for any regular person that just wants to live. Elderly people and anyone on a fixed income would be especially hard hit. I am surprised that anyone can seriously consider him as a candidate if they understand what his plan would mean for our country. Even the tea party can't be stupid enough to elect anyone with these type of economic views.
I am in favor of policies that are good for business and create jobs. The 9-9-9 policy may create a few jobs in some third world countries and may help a few wealthy Americans get more stock value but at the cost of making the average american a lot poorer.

Kindle library books
Image by JelleS via FlickrI have been getting Kindle library book loans. The selection is still limited but it will only get better. The convenience of never going to a physical library is great. There are also a huge number of older books for the kindle that are completely free which can be obtained from Amazon site links. Free reading material is very useful for me because I find it relaxing and my money is rather limited. Even most Kindle books bought on Amazon are significantly cheaper than buying hard copy books.

The PSP Vita offers a lot more capabilities than the old system which means that it naturally has a higher cost. Sagan was a Pagan.
Image via WikipediaCarl Sagan was mistaken in his view of the Cosmos. One example of this is when he said that two amateurs were not qualified to determine the rotational direction of Venus and that this type of work should be left to professional astronomers who would not make obvious errors. It happened to turn out that the amateurs were right and Carl was wrong if my memory is correct.
I had a class in college called simply "Cosmos" which was good for three technical credits and I needed it to graduate. I found it quite enjoyable even though Mr. Sagan had such an obvious prideful bias in his videos regarding many things.
The Professor of this class asked me the question "Is evolution a fact, theory or hypothesis?" I said evolution is currently a hypothesis because the experiment of creating life from inanimate matter can't be duplicated or observed. Because the Physics Professor was quite bright, he immediately agreed with me rather than Sagan. This made my entire day at the time and it still brings a smile to my face on occasion.
I am looking forward to this new Cosmos Sequel that is being made.

Missing Josh was found.
Josh left his phone at home so no one could call him all of yesterday. At least he wasn't mangled up after some horrible accident but it would be nice if he had a little more concern for his mothers feelings. My concern for Josh was somewhat less because he is a born again baptized Christian and even if he was dead I would be able to see him again in heaven to tell him what an ass he was while he was alive.

Image via WikipediaI respect the work that Steve Jobs did during his life. I hope his company continues in his legacy of innovation and success. Even great people like Steve Jobs must die eventually. He died too young. We should all try to make peace with God before we die because we never know how short life will be.
I am not a good example of what a Christian should be but I try to keep things straight with Jesus. Life is very short and it is worth our effort to have a plan for the afterlife. Very few people will remember what Steve Jobs did during his life a thousand years from now. I hope that Steve finds an eternal place in heaven because that is really all that matters in the long run.
