United States legal immigration should be increased

I think we should increase the number of immigrants allowed to come into this country legally.  Adults and children are actually dying trying to get into this country illegally while we debate the situation.  It's not right.  How can any Christian allow children to die just so the people in our country can be more comfortable and have more resources to squander?  We are so rich in our country that even most poor people are fat.  I should know because I'm one of them.  Rich people in the USA can pay a little extra in taxes so that these children can live here.  Republican's can't claim to be Christian and then promote policies that let children die.  Only a hypocrite can drive a Cadillac to Church on Sunday to put a ton of money in the offering, have a big meal at a luxury home afterward and then complain that we can't afford to help these people.

These immigrants are willing to work for their living and won't be a long term drain on this country.  Even if they were a long term drain, its still not right to let a person suffer and die when you have the power to help them.  The politics against immigrants are driven by racist political tendencies and should not be acceptable to any Christian.
