The main danger posed by Soros or Beck is that we will die laughing at some of the things they say. Beck may have the edge since he is more animated. It is sad that people believe the things said at the fringes of both ends of the political spectrum.

I have been a member of a church that was somewhat like the one described in this article. Those "more spiritual" members of the church always seem to deserve "more" than the rest of the members. This can take other forms besides financial but financial benefits are more easy to see and understand. People who claim to hear directly from God usually have ulterior motives even if they are self-delusional. An appeal to a miraculous power such as outlined in the book of Acts usually means that the person in power wants something from you. The Apostles gave their lives and we have their writings. Todays religious hucksters should be avoided. Compare the teachings of the Apostles to the teachings of those religious teachers who claim to have supernatural powers today. The primary danger in mixing politics and religion is that we see our political viewpoint as the only possible viewpoint that God would have us take. This is especially dangerous when we start to make decisions regarding our relations with other nations based on eschatology as I have seen some Christians do.  God gave us a brain and a conscience which we need to use to determine what is right in this world provided we compare it to the Bible.   Modern extra-Biblical revelations from "god" cannot be used to determine what is the right thing to do because they are not from God and we do not live in a theocracy.  I have never participated in or observed any religious experience that imparted any knowledge to the individual that was as good as simple study of the Bible.  Strong emotional religious experiences are many times contrary to what the Bible teaches because people's desires are really what is coming out.  Our religion clearly needs to interact with politics but most political issues can be decided by common sense and do not need an appeal to divine revelation to arrive at a decision.

The U.S. is in the process of paying China for its debt with less valuable paper money.  Of course  China is upset but thats what they get for loaning us more money than we can pay back.  Remember Obama's political experience was in the city of Chicago.  Maybe thats a good thing in this case.

It would be a just action for the United States to capture or kill Osama bin Laden.  Christian leaders opposing the war in Afghanistan on moral grounds are simply wrong.  The Bible clearly allows nations or individuals to defend themselves when threatened or attacked.  It may be our Christian duty to question some of the methods used in Afghanistan but the basic decision to make war against the Taliban is correct.

We have an all volunteer army so this type of selective objection to a particular war is not realistic. I think there should be some type of alternative service option available for those who object to any type of war. We can vote our leaders out if we object to a particular war.

North Korea and Iran are both rogue states with the potential to cause the deaths of many people. The United States should be prepared to fight a two front war at any time because of the unpredictability of these two nations. George Bush had it right when he said that nations that support terrorists should be treated the same as terrorists. We need to respond to these nations at a time and method of our choosing if they give weapons to terrorists.

I think Google has bigger plans for the future and is simply telling soothing lies to the TV networks. Cable TV will eventually start to go the way of paper newspapers. Cable and paper news will always have a niche market in the future but their current dominance is just not going to last as people become smarter about cost for content.
