Tony was in the Army Air Corp Pacific Fighting Fifth. I used to talk to him for long periods of time and he often talked about WWII. In one instance he was the only survivor of a large group of men who were shot to death by the Japanese on what was supposed to be a safe island while building a communication bunker. In another situation the Japanese were hiding above a communication bunker to intercept information for several months until they were discovered and shot. He was in multiple scenarios where he could have easily died and other conditions of suffering. After the war he eventually became a
Deputy Sheriff and had other jobs with the court system after he had
heart problems. He was a good man when it counted and a good
Christian.
