Home Depot has issues.....

Home depot gave me a quote for one price that clearly said my home did NOT have a drain by the hot water tank. The crew they sent wanted an additional $350 to drain the old water tank because there was no drain.  That was a problem for me because I simply don't have an additional $350 dollars so we emptied the tank ourselves. Home Depot needs to get its quotes right the first time instead of allowing adders for something that is clearly stated in the quote.

Unfortunately we had to shut off the main water valve to the house because the old shut off valve to the hot water tank broke.

The crew that did the job did it right with no fuss however Home Depot should require all their installers to have a transfer pump available for all jobs. We had to do some other minor preparation ourselves but that was a reasonable request by the installer in my opinion.

I would use Home Depot services again but it is necessary to scrutinize their quotes for these types of services to be sure they do everything they agreed to do.

My 20 year old hot water heater tank is leaking water in my drain free basement. This is uncool and required action on my part so I called Home Depot to replace the old girl and get financing. Home Depot is not all bad I guess but they didn't tell the installers that I have no drains in our old house basement and the installers did not bring a transfer pump to empty the tank.  Now I need to reschedule installation which is a major problem for me because my time seem to be an in demand commodity by several people and I have no time for rescheduling. Mild bummer to add to a wet basement even though its not quite the end of the world.
