Jesus sustains us in bad times as well as good.

It is always possible to find something to complain about even when you live in America and have enough to eat.  People dieing of Ebola or starvation would trade places with me in a heartbeat.  I had a series of personal bad news hit me recently but I will get over it eventually. The tests that I have encountered in life have simply not been that bad compared to what others have suffered, however, I would greatly prefer not to have any more tests today.

People do have the right to choose their own religion in the United States without someone killing them for their decision.  The Washington "cathedral" is basically functioning as a neutral secular meeting place where different religions can share their opinions.  It really can't be considered a Christian Church in my opinion.  In fact, I think that the Christian Church consists purely of people and that buildings are more of hindrance than anything else even though they may be needed.  Jesus said "I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life and no man comes to the Father but through me.....".

I don't personally know this man so its not for me to even attempt to judge the validity of his individual claims.  Is it possible for any homosexual to totally change his/her sexual desires to heterosexual? What about bisexual desires?

All humans and animals have sexual feelings.  I have observed a wide range of sexual behavior in cattle that were penned up in unnatural conditions on dairy farms. Humans forced to live in prisons have a higher incidence of homosexual behavior.  Environment is obviously some type of factor in whether a person engages in homosexual sex.

True Christianity can be a strong environmental factor in a persons decision about sexual activity but many people reject the idea that Christianity is at least as powerful a motivating factor as sexual desire.  The people that reject this idea are mistaken in their belief and usually are not Christian.  Human beings are not always solely motivated by sex as the strongest force in their life.

This weapon has several modes including a nonlethal lighting mode that can serve as a warning to a potential aggressor to keep their distance. I doubt that the military is revealing the full specifications of what this weapon can do in battle.

Are there Hobbits among us?

At least one Pope has approximately said that evolution is compatible with faith. The idea of Supernatural interference with evolution really irritates atheists and ultra-conservative Christians hate any compromise with evolution.  Rigid thinking patterns in science or religion have never impressed me as being useful for achieving truth.

Can anyone just explain where Hobbits came from with surety?  I doubt it.

How can anyone tell exactly what happened during the origin and development of all life? Humans are not God. Science can't even duplicate the origin of life from inanimate molecules so there is not much hope that it can accurately describe exactly what happened so long ago.

Human-Neanderthal Sex

Neanderthal Skeleton, AMNH

Humans and Neanderthals were close enough to have viable offspring.  Modern humans seem to believe that by giving organisms a name they can define them to be of different species and they can do that because species is a word defined by modern humans.  The King James Bible uses the word "kind" to separate animals into groups capable of producing offspring.  Does anyone know the equivalent modern word for "kind"?  The Biblical word "kind" seems to actually describe something real rather than being an arbitrary definition.

UK survey: the Bible noses out Darwin as the book most valuable to humanity, but not by much « Why Evolution Is True

Why are atheists afraid and disappointed that people think the Bible is the most valuable book to humanity?  Obviously there is nothing in the Bible that could help the opponents of atheism defeat the beauty of the atheist world view.  All intelligent people that love what is good should clearly reject the Bible and turn atheist.  The peculiar people that still venerate the Bible's teachings must have mush for brains and would be easy to defeat in any argument related to public policy.  Obviously the Bible and science are totally incompatible and anyone that disagrees with that straw man premise simply needs more atheistic inspired education.

90-year-old man and two ministers arrested for feeding homeless

One thing that I don't like is people that don't have any sympathy for poor people.  Was the beauty of the neighborhood really that spoiled by feeding some hungry people?  Was it so necessary to arrest a 90 year old man for this horrible crime?  The police should be working to arrest killers, rapists and people who are really committing a significant crime. Instead, some rich bastard is so worried about his property value that he has to waste the time of the police with harassing a 90 year old man!

Billions Have Been Spent on Technology to Find IEDs, but Dogs Still Do It Better

Military dogs detecting IED's have saved many lives and they deserve to be treated like gold when they are retired from service.  They should not be treated as old equipment that can't be repaired.  I am not sure of the current military policies regarding these retired dogs but I doubt they are good enough.

Money for taking care of people may have a higher priority but I believe that money can be found for taking care of these animals which have contributed so much.
