SEYMOUR, CT - MAY 29: Civil War reenactors march during the Memorial Day Parade in the economically stressed region of the Connecticut Valley on May 29, 2011 in Seymour, Connecticut. Hundreds of towns and cities across America will celebrate Memorial Day with parades, cookouts and family gatherings. Memorial Day, the unofficial start to the summer season, was conceived as a day for Americans to commemorate U.S. Service Members who died in every war, including current conflicts in Afghanistan and Iraq. Depends if the person is a Christian.  Some Churches have it written in their constitution or bylaws that military service is essentially always the wrong thing to do.  I have not found that statement in my Bible.  Our military has obviously done some things that are atrocities but at the same time it is absolutely necessary to use deadly force at times.  I believe that God expects us to take care of these situations using the physical means at he gave us which may include killing people.  God has given us a conscience to decide what is right or wrong.

Churches that do not give proper honor to veterans in this country are not in compliance with what the Bible teaches.  This is especially true on Memorial day.
