Health care reform law faces scrutiny - JSOnline

Universal health careImage via Wikipedia
The United States should have some type of health care for all of its citizens, not just the privileged. A person who is a Christian should not oppose this concept. Every western industrial country has some type of universal health care and many of them have a higher standard of living than the United States. Hard working but illegal immigrants to the United States should be given a path to citizenship to allow them to make a contribution in taxes and by other means to our society. It is not Christian to allow your neighbor to suffer while you have the means to alleviate their suffering so I believe that these immigrants should be given some minimal type of health care while on their path to citizenship. I don't believe that most politicians in the U.S. care about what Jesus would want them to do so I do not expect any health plan they come up with to be compassionate or rational.
