Texas is considering an anti-immigrant law like Arizona

When I went to High School, my bus route went by the canning factory which employed Mexican migrant workers. The migrant worker children happened to be the last people on the route to board the bus on the way to school and there was not quite enough room to seat everyone comfortably on the bus. To make the situation worse, some of the other children on the bus refused to allow the Mexican children to sit down by them. This created a tense and frightening situation for the Mexican children who usually could not speak English. I allowed the Mexican children to sit by me but I should have helped them more. The type of laws that Arizona has and Texas has proposed will subject too many innocent people to the same type of intimidation and prejudice. We should instead try to incorporate these hard working people into our society as citizens of the United States. We do not have to allow criminals from other countries to enter our country but most Mexicans coming to the U.S. just want to better their lives and are willing to work to do it. Our federal government should come up with some type of comprehensive immigration reform instead of squabbling about anything else.
